Exciting News for WILDBRAIN

Posted by mo on Friday May 29, 2009 Under Sharing the Love

For those of you who might not know….the award winning animation studio, WILDBRAIN
is the creative life force behind the Adventures of Erin Esurance. With that said, I’m delighted
to announce that CEO/President of WILDBRAIN, Charles Rivkin has been nominated by
President Obama to be an ambassador to France. Click here on the SF Chronicle
article to read the full scoop. You’ll also see lil’ Miss Erin peering behind Charle’s shoulder
with a slew of other animated prints on the wall. Bon Chance, Monsieur Rivkin!

And you can take that to the bank…

Posted by mo on Thursday May 14, 2009 Under Sharing the Love

Kudos to producer Steve Fischer at ADG Creative on the East Coast for asking me to
audition for this radio spot. Thanks to the wonderful world of technology, I was able to record at Outpost Studios VO booth here in SF via phone patch while Steve was listening/directing in Maryland.

Diggin’ in the Dirt w/Warriors

Posted by mo on Saturday Apr 11, 2009 Under Lil' Miss Erin

Sorry I have been out of the loop for awhile…
As part of the NBA’s Go Green Week, Esurance teamed up with Urban Releaf & the
Golden State Warriors to beautify Oakland. With shovel in tow, I helped
plant several of 16 trees. It was a positive vibe but the best part was meeting
CJ Watson and Brandan Wright. These guys were totally chill and very sweet.
Man do I feel short, ha!

“Voice of God” case

Posted by mo on Friday Mar 13, 2009 Under Sharing the Love

I found this blurb in the SF Chronicle sports section newsworthy:

The son of famed football announcer John Facenda has settled a lawsuit with NFL Films over the brief use of his father’s voice in a show about the John Madden video game. Facenda’s contract with NFL Films barred the use of his distinctive baritone–sometimes called “the voice of God”–for product endorsements. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Until next time…

My inner lil’ boy- GORILLA

Posted by mo on Tuesday Dec 9, 2008 Under Green Gorilla

The 2nd episode of “Gorilla in the Greenhouse” just launched. I portray the raspy voice of
“Bucket.” The songs are educational & catchy. Thanks to Jay Golden of SustainLane & Ralph Guggenheim of Alligator Planet for joining forces to produce this green edu-tainment series.
This one addresses mountain top mining.

91X Flaaaash Back

Posted by mo on Saturday Dec 6, 2008 Under Sharing the Love

(sfx: Harp Glissando)
It was one sweet reunion going back to my radio roots, San Diego. Flashback to ‘86. The radio tower was located atop a hillside in Tijuana, Mexico so the DJs had to make the daily trek across the border. Directions to the studio were (I kid you not!) “turn left at the dead dog.”  The board looked like something out of World War II. Although we didn’t realize it at the time, we were living the glory days of alternative radio. “91X, the cutting edge of rock.”  I was a young, sassy copywriter. If I wrote an especially clever radio spot, I would get restaurant script & treat my roomies to free food. Right now, I’m going through old reels, yes REELS & will have them mastered in 21st century format so I can post some of those vintage spots. One was for the club, Mannequins on Garnet in Pacific Beach. 91X is where I first started doing character voices with Berger & Prescott in the morning along with Rusty Nailz. Prescott has retired, Russ is still doing his comedy act & Berger is a big time voice-over artist. Lend an ear at www.michaelberger.com
Above, former 91X Brit DJ & SD icon, Steve West & moi.
Thanks to fun-loving & former wild man, Steve Nagelberg for making this special evening come to fruition. Steve is now in traffic sales at Clear Channel.

Below:

Meg Banta-DJ now on KPRI, Robin Rockwell is in charge of PR at KOFY-TV 20 in SF, Katy Manor was the female star of the 91X Breakfast Club, yours truly & Oz who did middays at 91X. Oz is now MD & DJ at KPRI in San Diego.
