WonderCon 2010

Posted by mo on Monday Apr 5, 2010 Under Sharing the Love

Today was the 3rd and final day of WonderCon here in San Francisco. I had the pleasure
of sitting next to Daniel Logan who was very down to earth, sweet and charismatic.
It must be the water in New Zealand ! Logan is a young actor, some of his credits include:
Boba Fett (2009) The Legend of Johnny Lingo (2003) …. Young Pua
“TakaPu: A Gannet in the South Seas” (2003) TV series (voice) …. TakaPu
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Across from me, the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, Larry Thomas. He was also very
gracious and real. Larry’s next acting project? He is currently working on a Western film
in Utah. His face lit up while talking about it since he grew up watching Westerns.

I ran into an old friend from my past, Keith Knight, “Gentleman Cartoonist.”
Knight is quite prolific churning out witty, topical daily and weekly strips. Knight has
3: K Chronicles, Knight Life Comics and (TH)INK ! www.knightlifecomic.com

WonderCon Kodak Moments

Posted by mo on Sunday Apr 4, 2010 Under Sharing the Love

I just wanted to share some of my highlights from WonderCon this week-end.
Today (day 2) was a constant sea of humanity flowing through the endless aisles
of Moscone Center South. It was golden to meet so many Erin Esurance fans one-on-one
to pose for shots, sign autographs or the biggest request was “do the voice!”
Next to me was New Zealand Star Wars Actor, Daniel Logan and across from me,
The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, actor Larry Thomas.

Erin Statue

Posted by mo on Monday Feb 8, 2010 Under Lil' Miss Erin

Today, I came across exquisite sculptures of my character, “Erin Esurance” that will be in the Advertising Icon Museum in Missouri. The museum is slated to open up sometime this year. Props to the uber talented artist, Damon Bard who is just across the Bay in Emeryville, CA. Damon specializes in sculpture and design of characters and creatures for animation and visual effects.

Gumby Animator Passes Away

Posted by mo on Sunday Jan 10, 2010 Under Sharing the Love

Gumby & Pokey animator, Art Clokey passed away last Friday. Gumby evolved from a student project @ USC in the 1950’s called “Gumbasia.” Clokey did not see a financial return from his characters for 40 years because he was hesitant at first in not wanting to exploit children. RIP, Art.
